No self-respectin' swashbucklin' pirate would miss this festival! The Gasparilla Pirate Fest takes place yearly in Tampa Bay, FL in January. The whole city gets decked out in pirate gear for this raucous celebration. This huge "Gasparilla Wreath" is so much fun: it measures ~36" across and features many treasures: a parrot, pirate ship, treasure chest overflowing with jewels, skulls, pirate flag, beads, feathers, and more. Not a "subtle" wreath, ha ha. This one was the most fun for me to make so far.
